Typhoon Preparedness Comes First! Full Precautionary Measures Launched for ‘2026 Taoyuan Halloween City’ — Schedule Adjustments for Select Activities and Performances

In response to the approaching typhoon and the strong gusts and heavy rainfall potentially brought by its peripheral circulation, the Department of Tourism of the Taoyuan City Government announced today (22nd) that comprehensive typhoon response and safety protocols have been activated at the “2026 Taoyuan Halloween City” venue. These measures are taken to ensure the safety of visiting citizens, event staff, and performance teams. On-site art installations and hardware facilities are being reinforced, while schedules for select stage programs and meet-and-greet events have been adjusted accordingly.
The Department of Tourism stated that safety remains the top priority given the diverse shapes and large scale of the event’s installations. The city government has initiated proactive typhoon preparedness measures for all on-site facilities. In response to changing weather conditions, event schedules are also undergoing rolling adjustments. The latest measures and updates are detailed below:

1. Typhoon Preparedness for Venue Hardware and Art Installations

  • Precautionary Dismantling and Relocation: Following structural and safety assessments, all detachable hardware, art installations, and large inflatables at risk of high winds are being dismantled immediately and moved to safe indoor storage.
  • On-Site Reinforcement: For large existing facilities and structures that cannot be dismantled, teams on-site have deployed sandbags, concrete counterweights, and other reinforcements to ensure wind resistance and minimize the storm’s impact.

2. Schedule Adjustments for Performances and Stage Events

Due to typhoon preparations and weather conditions, the event program has been updated as follows:
  • Events Originally Scheduled for Saturday, October 24:
    • Halloween City Concert: Postponed to Monday, October 26, and will take place during the original time slot.
    • Snoopy Meet-and-Greet: The session originally scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, October 24, has been postponed. The team is coordinating closely with the copyright holders and organizers on a suitable replacement time, which will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.
  • Exhibition and Venue Operations on Sunday, October 25:
    • The venue is scheduled to remain open on this day; however, the actual opening time will depend on post-typhoon restoration progress.
    • Decisions regarding whether Sunday’s stage events and scheduled activities will proceed as normal will be announced following on-site restoration and safety evaluations on October 24.
  • Adjustments to Scheduled Programs on Monday, October 26:
    • To accommodate the rescheduled concert, the two theater performances and resident shows originally set for Monday, October 26, from 15:00 onward will be rescheduled—tentatively to Friday, October 30. Exact performance times are currently being finalized.
